Yes, we went through years of losses and painfull culling to achieve parasite resistant hair sheep. MOVEMENT is the best prescription.
There are >5m sheep in the United States, and ANYONE can sell you breeding stock. If you want to continuously graze, never move your sheep, you will have parisite problems.
The best breeding stock will never be able to make up for bad management. If this is your plan, we will be the first ones to tell you that you can find breeding stock far cheaper than us.
However, very few producers can sell you parasite resistant hair sheep that have smaller frames, and retain "dorper-like" growth.
Everyone in the hair sheep world claims "paraiste resistance." However, few have purposly exposed their sheep to select for breeding stock after continuosly grazing in >40in of rainfall on heavy clay soil.
Dorpers are the fastest growing hair sheep, but lack the parasitie resistance found in St. Croix. St. Croix lambs grow too small, and are unsuitable for commercial production. That's why we combined 4 breeds to make a composite.
This makes us uniqely positioned to provide high-quality breeding stock that are ACTUALLY parasite resistant and profitable.
